Camp Grimes Camping Trip

1/13/07 - 1/14/07

The purpose of our January outing is to teach our scouts about cold weather camping. This year will not be the best for teaching this lesson, even in the mountains of North Carolina.  Where is the snow?

Typically, it's a bad thing to go on a camping trip with the possibility of rain.  But, we have been blessed with very little rain on our outings in the past two years so, if it does rain I will teach the scouts about keeping their tents and gear dry.

Also, since first aid is our theme for the month, I will be talking about hypothermia.  Since most cases of hypothermia happen during 50° F weather.
