Eagle Scout - AJ Hicks

AJ Hicks completed his quest for Eagle Scout in 2005 as a student at Wade Hampton High School.  Besides Scouting, A.J. interests in High School were Varsity wrestling and Cross Country running.  Upon graduation A.J. choose to join the U.S. Army Reserve and to attend the University of South Carolina Upstate. In 2009, A.J. was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  After six months of chemotherapy A.J.’s cancer was declared in remission.  In 2010, A.J.’s Reserve unit was called up to serve in Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom.  Specialist Hicks of Engineer Battalion 323 serves his country as Combat Engineer and Husky driver.  His unit’s key job is to find roadside bombs and eliminate them.  Upon returning from Afghanistan A.J. will continue his pursuit of his college degree.
